Science - Meet The Staff

Our Staff come from very diverse backgrounds and include current HSC markers, quality teaching consultants, research scientists, beef farmers, horticulturalists, and perhaps the most important job of all, parents.
Whilst we can boast a combined experience of over 160 years teaching experience, we prefer to focus on our continual quest to refine and develop our significant expertise in teaching and learning.

Key staff within Science at OFHS include:  

Ms Parker
Areas of expertise- preparation of practical equipment, maintenance and repair of stock and equipment, keeping the Science staff in line.
Interests- Family, music, bushwalking and socialising

Ms Surma
Areas of expertise- maintenance and management of our Agriculture facility, assisting Agriculture staff.
Interest – Family, gardening, electronic games.

Mr Horsley (Head Teacher)
Areas of expertise- Science, Physics, Biology, Chemistry and Marine Studies
Interests- Martial Arts, Music, Scuba Diving and wine appreciation (not all at the same time!). Mr Horsley is also a devotee of the inspiring writings of the philosopher Homer (Simpson!)

Mr Walker
Areas of expertise- Science, Agriculture, Primary Industries and Marine Studies
Interests- Surfing, travel

Mr Hickey
Areas of expertise- Agriculture, Science.
Interests- Running his own beef farm

Mrs Toh
Areas of expertise- Science, Chemistry, Biology
Interests- Socialising, family, gourmet food, peer mediation.

Mrs Navin
Areas of expertise- Science, Biology, Chemistry
Interests- bushwalking, snorkelling, theatre and travel

Mrs Guest
Areas of expertise- Science, Biology
Interests- Family
